Crew Manager

Since our current Crew Manager of WSM is moving up to a new challenging position inside the Wilh. Wilhelmsen Group, we are seeking his successor. 

Responsibility & Authority
The Crew Manager is responsible for:

Financial:

  • Providing Manning Budget and Budget follow up for existing and Potential Clients
  • Understand the financial targets in WSM AOP and contribute towards achieving the projected targets.
  • Take up complete responsibility for managing the payroll costs for group of vessels allocated to him/her.
  • Improve productivity of the team.

Customer Interface:

  • Provide service as per the agreed standards in the customer service level agreements.
  • Understand and implement WSM AOP goals with regards to Customer Interface.
  • Identify and formulate training and development needs for seafarers in consultation with Client and WSM Competence Development Manager.
  • Provide measurement of service standards to client, bi -annually with support from WSM MR (management representative).
  • Ensure that the customer satisfaction surveys score is above the required level.
  • Strong focus on customer growth in new markets

Organizational Interface:

  • Interaction with other department in WSM and WMS as per guidelines laid out in WSM and WMS documentation.
  • Manage the supply chain interface as per Service Level Agreement and Vendor
  • Contribute and participate in giving feedback on systems and applications in WSM with a view to increase organizational efficiencies.
  • Represent WSM in the local industry for profiling and networking.

Growth and Development:

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the value chain.
  • Conduct Employee dialogues with sub-ordinates and identify training and development areas for individual growth.

The perfect candidate for this role:

  • Has extensive experience from a similar position, preferably from a global company
  • Has extensive experience in high-level negotiating
  • Holds a Masters degree or equivalent, preferably within Management and HR
  • Is independent, but also an excellent team player
  • Is hands on and ALWAYS prepared
  • The role reports directly to the General Manager of WSM Norway
