Vice President IT

At the company’s head office in Oslo, there is an open position as Vice President IT.

Höegh LNG is a dynamic and vibrant project oriented organization in continuous movement, and we therefore expect you to be a candidate with excellent navigations and maneuvering skills.

In supporting Höegh LNGs growth, it is obiviously important to continue improwing the use of IT as an accelerator.  The role is scoped to be a Vice President position with the sole responsibility for efficient IT governance and company wide IT-strategy development.
We expect a minimum of 12-15 years relevant work experience.

On a personal level, the VP IT should be characterized open likeable, analytically skilled and have a high degree of hands-on management style.

 

Professional Responsibilities and Authority

As Vice President IT, you will hold the overall responsibility and ownership for our digital agenda and roadmap, coherent with organisational goals and strategies. You will lead the development and maintenance of the enterprise architecture and coordinate necessary initiatives across the company, as well as develop and enforce sufficient IT governance and IT operation.

The list of tasks and responsibilities are long, but the overhead notable list is:

  • Use IT effectively to support and achieve business goals.
  • Ensure efficient IT governance and company wide IT-strategy development.
  • Improve and maintain high-quality information to support business decisions.
  • Use technology & digitalisation to promote operational excellence.
  • Ensure IT risks are managed effectively.
  • Ensure organisations realise the value of their investments in IT.
  • Achieve compliance with laws, regulations and contractual agreements. 

The perfect candidate for this role

The ideal candidate for this role has a documented successful track record in supporting a companys goal and competitive advantage, through leading continuously IT and digital transformation from strategy through implementation.

We expect you to have a holistic approach and know how to combine a strong understanding of technology, business, and people to create value for customers and business units.

 

To take on this role we expect the right candidate to have the following critical experience: 

  • Experience from working in a global company, preferably from the energy  and/or shipping company
  • Extensive experience from roles where you have taken on a full responsibility, both strategically and operationally
  • Beeing a skilled leader, collaborator and motivator that can create results across the organization.
  • Holds great relational and communication skills and have the ability to create excitement around digital and IT transformation throughout the organization.
  • Beeing an expert in juggling several tasks at the same time

  

What do you need to know for this position?

With regards to education, we expect a 5 years relevant higher education (master) as a minimum, and a minimum of 12-15 years of relevant work experience.

Proficiency in the Norwegian language would be helpful, but other candidates with fluent English skills could be considered.

  • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems, IT strategies and their specifications
  • Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
  • Experience in controlling information technology budget
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Fluent English skills, written and spoken
  • Good interpersonal skills, balance firmness and flexibility
  • Be pro-active, solution oriented and open-minded
  • Knowledgeable and competent leader with a clear and reflective approach to problem solving.
  • Solid experience from international organizations and working with senior global Executive management
